OMG !!! Bonnie Raitt was in town giving a concert!! Did I get to go no I did not mom left me at home ON PURPOSE. Instead mom took this small cat that fit in her purse! Mom said I don’t squish in her purse and if she took me in a pack or satchel she might have to leave me at the coat check. Arrrghh! This is the second floor of the Fox Theater lobby. It’s art deco and looks like a cool building but I didn’t get to see it myself. No one was allowed to take pictures during the concert which mom says was great but I wouldn’t know personally. This is me next to the small cat I could have fit in mom’s purse if she had taken everything else out.
Ever since mom ate all the Scooby Snacks I have been thinking about graham crackers. At the store we saw these Bunny Grahams and I convinced mom to buy them because on the box it says they have a Bunny of Approval which is better than a Seal of Approval and if I had any money I would buy them myself and I will never ever ask for anything again !OMG these are the cutest graham cookies ever! They are tiny bunnies! And delicious! And they are so small it is okay to eat lots of them! Mom is eating lots of them too.
About a week ago mom donated blood but she FORGOT to get pictures. Afterwards they want you to have juice and cookies and they had Scooby Snacks! OMG! Mom took the Scooby Snacks to work and then one day when I was NOT THERE she opened them up and ate them herself!!! They look like dog biscuits ha ha ha mom ate dog biscuits! She says they were really good. This is her office cat who got to share the Scooby Snacks. We got a flower shop for our foster cat Fritter! Fritter is turning out to be a long-term guest! She is a super sweet cat and is very playful but she is really scared of strangers and does not make a good first impression.
The people that lived in our house before us planted tulips, or one tulip. Maybe they planted a bunch and only one survived. Usually it does not bloom but this year it did!During the winter there was a really big windstorm and the arch between our house and the house next door broke apart and fell over. It was a really heavy duty arch and the honeysuckle growing on it had been holding it up! But after the storm mom had to cut it all down. Then we put in this new lightweight arch but it is supported with rebar that mom hammered into the ground. We have been taking care of our friends fish OMG!!! Our friends have a whole bunch of aquariums and while they are on a trip they asked if mom would look after their fish! Mom used to have aquariums a long time ago and knows how to look after fish. Now she has a Tiger instead which is much more fun than fish. When we walk over to the friends house we take our new Tiger satchel! It is just the right size for a cell phone and it has a little pocket and it came with a really truly small Tiger! For the last couple of months mom has been working on a really big project at work and putting in a lot of extra hours. So that is why we have not been making Tiger blog posts very often. It is best to play quietly or do internet surfing while mom is working. It will be a couple more months before the project wraps up so don’t worry if you do not see a lot of Tiger posts from me! But there are other great Tiger websites to visit while you wait.
Okay this was a while ago but mom FINALLY said she would help me organize my photos and make some new Tiger blog posts. We went to the Spokane No Kings protest! There were so many great protest signs!People are very creative and have lots of things to say. While we were there everyone was polite and having a good time, exercising their right to peacefully assemble.
We had new flooring installed in the basement!!! This is just some of the material that got delivered! We had to paint some of the trim pieces ahead of time. In this photo you can see the carpet that is getting replaced it was not new when we bought the house more than 9 years ago and it is very worn out! Here is the carpet ripped out and the cement floor cleaned up. Juan was our installer and he did an amazing job! The floor needed some leveling which was a lot of work. Mom did not allow me to go downstairs during that time because it involved wet cement and she did not want any paw prints. This shows the padding and the floor being installed in the hallway.Juan was very neat and organized! He had what seemed like an enormous amount of tools and equipment this is just a small portion of it.The finished flooring looks fantastic and is about a million times better than the old carpeting! We have started to put things back into the basement. Now we will not be embarrassed about the ugly old carpet when friends and family come to stay with us!
We have not had much snow this winter but then it snowed for over 24 hours non-stop! It was also warm so it melted almost as fast as it hit the ground. The next day was sunny at it was sparkly and beautiful! Here I am in the woods across the street from our house. Tigers LOVE the SNOW!We had a bull moose visit us three days in a row! He would stop by in the morning for a bite to eat and he also liked to rub his body against the trees and shrubs! His antlers are not very big so I think he is a young moose this may be his first winter without his mom. Don’t worry we were taking pictures from inside the house!
Mom is finally getting around to helping me make a new post. Here I am with some large animal holiday lanterns for a festive New Year! Here are some of the presents we got for Christmas! Here is the absolute best gift we got. mom’s boss gave us homemade cranberry-orange butter, caramel-pear sauce, and BACON JAM OMG!!! Tigers LOVE bacon jam it is the best thing ever I am so excited OMG mom open that jar RIGHT NOW! mom says don’t be silly you’ve never had bacon jam before and never even knew it existed until now. I guess she is right but I am a Tiger a carnivore I want that BACON JAM! It says to warm before serving mom can you please warm it up for me?We have been cleaning up the basement and going through stuff and giving away things and also made a trip to the Waste-To-Energy transfer station. It is really interesting you drop off your garbage in an enormous warehouse and they Incirencenerateincenra burn it and turn it into electricity. At the same location you can drop off receylabesreciclab stuff to recycle. It is all very neat and organized. We had some steel from a landscape arch that broke and fell down in a big windstorm. It was great fun to drop it in the huge bin and hear it make a crashing sound! It was a very heavy duty arch and was quite a project to cut back the old honeysuckle that was growing on it and dismantle it.Now that we got rid of some stuff we can get more! Mom wants a bookcase and a dresser and we heard the Habitat For Humanity store is a good place to look. This place is amazing! You can get almost everything you need here to build a house, fix it up, and fill it with things. All kinds of building materials, cabinets, doors, appliances, dishes and stuff for the kitchen like can openers, it’s overwhelming. There was a whole aisle of tools with several bins of screwdrivers. They ranged in price from 25 cents!! to a dollar!! Mom was very very tempted to get some. She had recently mislaid one of her favorite screwdrivers and could not find it anywhere so she ended up buying a new one. Then a week later of course she came across the one she had lost. For the amount she paid, we could have gotten a couple dozen screwdrivers from Habit for Humanity. They are used and some of the blades weren’t so good, so next time we will bring some screws with us to try them out.
It has been a while since we posted anything! We have been Busy preparing for Winter and it has already snowed a few times, but then it warms up and melts. It has also been raining a lot and one of the gutters was not draining. So mom took apart the downspout part of the gutter piece by piece and finally climbed up on the ladder to remove the handful of leaves that were blocking the drain at the very top. Then the cold water trapped in the gutter poured out all over her HA HA HA that was so funny I wish I got picture of that but instead here is a photo of the downspout all put back together. Also we have been slowly painting the basement. It was a nice chocolatey-brown color but it made the rooms very dark. The previous owners left several cans of gray paint (each can a different gray) so we mix them together! Here is one wall in the process of being painted. The basement has lots of doors and doorways and windows and beams to paint around so it took a lot of weekends to get it done!Look at this hallway now! It used to be so dark that even with the light on it was dreary looking and not nice. It’s sooooo much better now! The rooms on the other floors look dingy in comparison so we may have to paint them next! Mom says maybe but let’s take a break from painting for a little while.
We went hiking at Lake Pend Oreille!!! It was so gorgeous and a warm sunny beautiful day!The lake was king of cold but mom decided it would be okay to go for a quick dip in the water. But she did not have her swim suit (again), But she found some good spots where it was secluded and she could swim in her undies (again). But then at the last minute she remembered that she had sutures in her arm and was not supposed to immerse her arm in water. Hmmm, it would not be good if the incision got infected and get scolded by her doctor. So the lake swim plan got cancelled.OMG we went to a Lord Huron concert with our good friend Margo!!!!! Here I am at the Spokane Pavilion before the concert started with the sunset showing beautiful colors while people find a place to sit on the grass or stand near the stage. It was an amazing show! and the band was really great – very impressive musicians! There were 4 guitar players and a bass and it was a lot of sound! They had about a dozen guitars and would switch instruments for different songs and I could not tell the difference but I am sure they knew what they were doing. I am just a small Tiger and do not know much about guitars. It was a great concert!
