This the evacuation map from a few days ago, and now all evacuations have been lifted! There were firefighters from all over the country here helping, and even some from Australia! They all did an amazing job and we are so grateful.Most of the smoke has cleared up and we can see across the valley again. And we can see blue skies !!! It is so great!We had a young Cooper’s Hawk visit! He was calling out hoping his Mom would come feed him.We are fostering a little kitten named Disneyland! She has enormous whiskers and is more fun than a trip to Disneyland. If anyone is looking to adopt a friendly kitten let us know!
There are devastating fires in Spokane right now it is really awful we are so sad. We are okay! We are not in any of the evacuation zones! There are 4 separate fires and 3 of them have grown to make one very large complex fire. A lot of the area is forest and agricultural but it also includes a lot of residential areas and thousands of people have had to evacuate. It is just awful. t looks like half of North Spokane has had to evacuate. We may have friends coming to stay with us because they had to evacuate. As of this morning the California Interagency Incident Management Team 7 is assuming command of the Spokane Area Fires; so far the fires are zero percent contained. Our Spokane firefighters are doing an amazing job but it was extremely windy yesterday which caused the fires to expand very rapidly.On a lighter note, we have caught the turkeys red-handed! Red-footed! Digging in our flower beds! They look so innocent but they are not!
