Eclipse!

Where we live it was not a full eclipse it was about 25% but it was still AWESOME! We were at work and it was a cloudy day but whenever the sun came out we would look at the sun with mom’s eclipse glasses.
David made a pinhole camera with a cereal box to view the eclipse – it was great! If you are ever shipwrecked on a deserted island or if your car breaks down crossing a mountain pass, David is the person you want to have with you. He is an Engineer and with a cereal box and some tin foil he could build a raft (if you are stranded on an island) or get your car going again (if your car does not work while driving over a mountain).

Raised Garden Bed!

This may not look like much but as soon as we assemble it we will have a raised garden bed!
But first we had to go to the big box hardware store and get lots of supplies! Mom says once we actually grow some carrots they will be the most expensive carrots ever!
There were so many fun things to do at the store and things to look at! We totally should get one of these riding lawnmowers. It would be a good backup vehicle for when the car gets a flat tire.
Spring is awesome!
Back home we had to get to work removing sod, laying pavers, and getting the bed put together.
Ta-da!!!!! The neighborhood cats are going to love this!

It is STILL Winter!

Yesterday we woke up to a Winter Wonderland!
The woods are so pretty covered in snow!
Other people had been out on the trail before us so we could walk in their tracks.
Later while we shoveled snow a plow cleared our road. Yay! This was a really good driver; after he plowed the street he came back through and got most of the snow away from the driveways!

Errands! And A Foster Cat update!

Saturday was Errand Day. This is me with Andres who is the most handsome and super helpful employee at PetSmart! He will go far in life!
Here I am with Bai who works at the beauty supply store. Mom definitely needs help in that area! Not only is Bai totally gorgeous but she knows where EVERYTHING is in the store!
We also went to Eggers which has a liquor store and a separate store that is a butcher shop! Mom is a vegetarian but I am a TIGER and TIGERS are CARNIVORES!!! So I LOVE to going to Eggers! Mom goes there to buy bread made by a local baker!
Here is one of our new foster cats her name is Sigrid. She came from a hoarding situation and she is very shy and scared. She is small and may not be fully grown yet. She is a very pretty cat and we hope that we can teach her to trust people and be friendly.
This is Peep which is a great name! She is also very shy and is still settling in. Our foster cat Birdie who we had for 8 months was adopted by her former foster Mom – it’s so fantastic! And Felicity was adopted by a cat rescue up north that takes in challenging cats. Felicity was not feral but was not socialized or friendly but could not be a barn cat because she needed a special diet and had no teeth. So it was a very good outcome for both Birdie and Felicity to be with people who understand them and accept them for who they are. Which is pretty much what we all want!

A Tiger Puzzle!!!

We are doing a TIGER Puzzle!!!! OMG!!!! We have been doing stuff around the house and taking it easy because mom had some unexpected surgery. She is okay!! But she has not had a lot of energy for a couple of weeks so we have been doing this awesome TIGER puzzle. Tigers rule!
Also! OMG! We got this super amazing water bottle with a fierce TIGER on it!!! It looks just like me!
Today we did go for a walk and took some artsy photos of raindrops. It has been a strange winter, currently we have warmer weather and rain.

It’s FREEZING!!!

About a week ago we had some snow and we did some shoveling.
Then it got very very cold! Here you can see the car says the temperature is 3 degrees at 4:01 pm. It has been getting well below zero overnight ! Brrrr!
I am a Tiger and I have a nice fur coat but it is so cold I wanted to borrow mom’s Titanic beanie hat. Which was a gift from Auntie Darcy and that makes it extra special. You can see it is a well used hat.

Moose Visit In the Night!

We have had moose visiting! Here is a photo our awesome neighbor Jen sent of a moose in our backyard! This is the first time we’ve had a moose with a tag, so now we will know if the same moose stops by again. Then one night we looked out the window and there was a moose walking around, and eventually decided to lay down. It was too dark to see who it was and we did not want to turn on the outside lights. We love having wildlife visit.
At the library we go to a lot they now have a puzzle exchange, where you can leave a puzzle or take a puzzle, and there are several puzzles on a big table that you can work on if you feel like it.

There is also a yarn exchange at the library! What a great idea! There are a bunch of cubbies and the yarn is organized by color. It is also very fun for a Little TIGER to play in the cubbies. I hope everyone has a Happy New Year!

Happy Holidays!

For Christmas Day we went to a party at our awesome neighbors house! Here I am with Joni and Gary and Tyler and Linda. We had some great food with great company and the women were so beautiful and the men so handsome! Everyone loved our roasted brussels sprouts and potato dish! Although in my humble opinion we could have left out the brussels sprouts.
Near our house up higher on the ridge a developer has cleared the land and is putting up big retaining walls. Then they will build new houses! We used to walk through the woods here.
We went for a hike in Coeur d’Alene! I always have a hard time spelling that.
It was a super sunny day and wonderful views!
We met this really nice family visiting from Seattle. They told us we were smart to move to Spokane because the traffic is much worse now in Seattle. Mom FORGOT to get their names but the women were gorgeous and the men so handsome!

Holiday Gifts!

We are putting together gift bags for friends! Whoever invented gift bags is a genius! Sometimes people must end up with their own bag back but with different gifts in it (hopefully). We put some things in one bag we had and then noticed that it had a sticker on it with names of people we don’t know: from Amy to Frances. So that bag has been passed around!
We got some presents from Auntie Darcy! They have real wrapping paper on them. We use wrapping paper sometimes too and wonder if people notice that every year it is the same wrapping paper! Until the giant roll is gone and we buy a new one. Then I noticed that the black paper with holiday lights in the photo looks familiar…. I think that Auntie Darcy also has a giant roll of wrapping paper.

MORE Snow!

It snowed all night and then it warmed up and even rained a little. We had to shovel a lot of wet heavy snow! Our awesome neighbor Blake cleared our sidewalk with his snowblower and then our awesome neighbor Steve helped us shovel!
Then later a plow came through and made a huge berm blocking the driveway. We had to go shovel again! There was a small lake of water at the end of the driveway so we made a trench for it to drain.
We went to the theater to see She Loves Me! Our friend David is playing the lead role of Georg Nowack!!! It is a very funny play and all the actors were amazing, David was terrific and is super handsome and sings wonderfully. Our friend Carolyn came with us to see the show but she did not want to be in the picture. She is very beautiful and also very funny. This photo is from afterwards when the actors changed into their regular clothes to go home.
We finished replacing part of the carpet in the basement! Mon did not want me to post a picture of it because it was not good. Mom says that somewhere, some other do-it-yourselfer who replaced carpeting must have done a worse job than she did. But I am not so sure! We have two pieces of advice for anyone who wants to replace their own carpeting. First, get a knife like the red one in the photo. Red is my favorite color but more importantly it is designed to cut carpet and does not have the blade thumb control like a regular utility knife that causes blisters on your hand when you cut a lot of carpeting. Second – hire a professional!
