We have a NEW CAT !!!!!!!!!

OMG!!  Today mom brought home a new cat!  It is not a foster we adopted it and this is his forever home now!  Here he is hiding under the bedspread.  He is feeling a little shy but he is very sweet and loves having his face scratched.  He is 15 years old!  His previous guardian died and so he was in an animal shelter here in Spokane.  He had a sister too but she was very sick and died while at the shelter that is very sad.   We are going to take good care of this kitty and spoil him and give him the best retirement home ever.

Before mom brought the new cat home she spent the weekend fixing up the guest room where he is staying.  This way he has his own private room while he gets used to us. This photo of the guest room may not look like much but you should have seen it before!  It had neon blue paint and butterfly mirror stickers on the walls. We have not picked out a name for the new kitty yet.  The name he came with was Tiger but that is my name!  Also it is the name of Margo’s cat so it would be way too confusing.

Fish Lake Trail!

Oh Boy!  Today we hiked somewhere new – Fish lake Trail!  It is a long trail so we did not make it to Fish lake but it was a great day anyway.  We met Darrell and walked with him for about a mile. He is from Louisiana and told us all about the wildlife there like alligarators  alleygaters  gators with big teeth and swamp snakes like water moccasins. He was super nice and handsome and his friends call him Cajun.

We saw lots of interesting rocks like this.  If Auntie Darcy were with us she could tell us all about them.  We looked for fossils but did not find any.

Then when we got home we saw that someone left us this amazing hanging basket on our doorstep!  I think it is from one of our super fantastic neighbors.

Yesterday we were doing errands and right in the middle of the city was this really great park with yellow sunflowers as far as you could see!

Last week we had dinner with our awesome friend Vivian !!  We have not seen her in months so mom and Vivian spent hours yakking.  We were at a restaurant I LOVE restaurants! Vivian is really nice and funny and beautiful.  It was a great week!!

Bloomsday!!

This weekend was the famous Spokane Bloomsday 12K (7.46 miles) race! Elite runners  and wheelchair racers from the US and even other countries come to Spokane for this.  We volunteered to help at one of the water aid stations !!  Here we are setting up.

The barrels of water are filled with a fire hose !!  OMG !  There are about 50,000 people in the race. That is a lot of people and they are almost all thirsty.

Here we are passing water to the runners!  We filled about a zillion cups of water.

We had to work hard to keep the table filled for these nuns. Almost everyone wanted to get water from them.  They were really nice and very beautiful too!

There was an awesome band playing near us.  It was a great day!!

Hiking and a Downtown SHOW !!!

This weekend we went hiking again!  This is where you drop off the fee to visit Turnbull Wildlife Refuge.  It is only 3 dollars!  We usually give more and one time we put a hundred dollar bill in the envelope!   I drew a Tiger picture on the envelope this time.

We saw lots of wildflowers like Arrowleaf Balsamroot on the left which was used for food and medicine by the Native Americans. It is part of the sunflower family.

When we stopped for lunch we sat on a log and saw this beautiful feather !

Then that evening OMG !!! we went Downtown to see a PINK FLOYD LASER SHOW !!

Here I am with Margo my good friend who lets me help drive the car. It is a beautiful theater with all kinds of cool stuff but I was so excited to see the LASER SHOW!!

OMG the LASER SHOW was so awesome with all my favorite PINK FLOYD music and LASERS !! It was hard to get good pictures in the dark with all the LASERS going on.

Hiking and Other Adventures

One day last week mom came home with a small box for me.  OMG!!!!  She got me new business cards !!!  Usually we make our own but Mom says this is much easier.

We had lunch with our friend Alan !   I LOVE restaurants!  Alan had all kinds of great stories and told us all about the geology of the area.  Best of all he had a cheezburger for lunch!   Alan is super nice and handsome but not quite as handsome as me.

We went hiking today it was a super sunny day!  Here are some of the animals we saw: Ground squirrels. Swans! A fox – maybe, it might have been a coyote. Deer!  A coyote – for sure, it was right on the trail in front of us! Lots of birds.

I asked mom to get a picture of me with these pine cones.

Lots of Walkies

This weekend we did a whole bunch of errands, like going back to Clara’s art studio.

We went on lots of walks!!  Here we saw a tree that some animal gnawed at.  Maybe it was a Tiger!

We walked to a different part of the neighborhood where there was this awesome tree house!  OMG it is perfect for a small tiger!  We should get one like this in our yard !!

Also just because it is Spring now does not mean the snow has stopped.

Hiking and Errands

This weekend we got lots of chores and errands done. As a reward we got lunch at our favorite Thai restaurant!     Sometimes the chefs make flames when they are cooking but it is hard to get a picture of that.  At least that’s what Mom says. She also missed most of  my face in this photo.

.

Later we went for a walk in the woods near our house.  Here we are in a field of purple wildflowers.  I have my Gonzaga bandana and Turnbull pin and Mom is wearing the Western Bluebird pin we also got at Turnbull last week.

Then we went hiking on Sunday!    We saw a coyote!!  and a moose!!

We had lunch by this lake.  A toasted peanut butter sandwich.

More Hiking!

Over the weekend we went back to Turnbull both days for more hiking!

The gift shop was open!  We got a couple of pins to put on our bandanas!  This is me with Marianne who is super beautiful and was super nice she chatted with us even though she was trying to put away all the merchandise for the gift shop.

Mom made us all Gonzaga bandanas!!!! Here I am the next day on another hike with my new bandana and my Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge pin !!!

We saw moose both days !!!!  OMG!!!!  There is a moose a little above my right ear and to the right the moose is standing to the right of a tree! We added an arrow to help.

Also this weekend we met Clara who is an art restorer!  She is going to repair some paintings that got damaged in the move.  Clara is gorgeous and charming and has the coolest studio ever!  It would be fun to spend the day there and make paw paintings.

Turnbull Hike!

This weekend we went back to the Turnbull Wildlife Refuge to do another hike! We brought Dixie too!  Yayyy!  It is warmer now so she can come on long hikes.

The snow is almost all melted so now there is a lot of water in lots of places. The big pond behind us is where the trail is. We had to forge through or go around a lot of water!  Mom has waterproof boots and I am a Tiger I do not mind getting my paws wet.

Dixie likes to look for flowers.  It is spring but there are not a lot of flowers yet. What we did see is a lot of animal scat!  We came home and looked online to see what kind of animals are in the area. Based on our research: deer or elk or moose, coyotes, and raccoons! Also we saw a chipmunk!  And ducks!  And a bluebird!

Last week at work there was lunch from a restaurant but mom FORGOT to get me and all that was left when she came back to the office were some cookies.

OMG the best thing happened at work Marc was there for a few days! I have not seen Marc in a year or two. He is super smart and funny and also super handsome. Mom found out that his name is actually Marcel ! She probably knew that but FORGOT because she seems to FORGET things a lot these days.

Weekend Walk

We  had a locksmith come to our house to re-key our locks!  His name was Steve he was really nice and super handsome but not quite as handsome as me.

This weekend we did some errands and then we had lunch at a restaurant I LOVE restaurants!  Mom said it was the best Thai food she has had so far in Spokane.

When we got home we went for a walk in the woods. The snow is all gone!  Everything looks so different now.  It will be harder to see animal tracks but I will keep looking.

Here is the first flower of Spring!
