Six Sigma – Day 6

20140506_112110

This is Day 6 of the Six Sigma class. Hey Mom, your chart does not look like the one Russ made.

20140506_131512

Hmmm. Same thing here. Mom are you sure you know what you are doing??

20140506_145535

It all looks pretty simple to me.

20140506_140453

We have class 2 days in a row ALL DAY, then we get a week off, and then are back in class again. I am a tiger and have stamina but Mom gets tired. She told Holly to act tired for this picture.

20140506_141603

We bring lots of snacks but they are usually all gone by lunchtime. Luckily there are plenty of places to buy more snacks nearby.

Hiking – FINALLY!

20140503_082940

We finally found time to go hiking! Mom said rain or shine we would go hiking on Saturday. Here we are entering the park!

20140503_083201

Driving thru the park. Dogs are not allowed in the park so Dixie stayed home. Uncle Pete is Mom’s hiking partner so we got to ride in his truck!!! yayyyyy!   I love Mt Rainier National Park!

20140503_093059

Hitting the trail. Mom sure carries a lot stuff. I hope she left room for snacks.

20140503_102537

Stopping at a pretty view point to take pictures. The mountain is out there behind the clouds and mist.

20140503_102639

Here I am helping Uncle Pete with his new camera.

20140503_104125

Another great view from the other side of the ridge.

20140503_104315

There are steep slopes ahead with snow!!  Watch out everyone!  I am a tiger and was not worried but Mom made me ride in her pack.  Then later she fell down and slid in the snow ha ha!  She said good thing she has had lots of practice falling down in the snow.

20140503_110750  20140503_111130  20140503_120219

Stopping for a snack… yay for snacks! Also I got to play and climb in  the trees. Tigers can climb trees ya know! Also we saw lots of streams that were very pretty and provided photo opportunities.

20140503_132711

After the hike we went to the museum in the park.  Whooaa, look at the cougar!

20140503_132638

He is so handsome, but not as handsome as me of course.

20140503_161944

Then we had dinner at an awesome restaurant. I LOVE restaurants! It was a fantastic day and we hardly got rained on at all!

Six Sigma

20140422_122106[1]

Mom is taking a Six Sigma class. Whatever that is. We have lots of snacks at our section of the table. That is the most important thing in class.

20140422_134450[1]

Here I am with the most awesome instructor, Russell. He is a Sig Sigma Master Black Belt. Wow! Don’t mess with this guy!

20140422_144838[1]

Here I am helping Holly design the quantitative measurement system analysis. Holly sits next to Mom in the class and I help them both. Holly has the most beauuttiiiful eyes! and she is really smart.

20140422_130027[1]

OMG what is Russ talking about???? Population model for measurement variation????

20140422_135438[1]

Here I am with Caralyn. She likes me! She has an awesome smile! She is really smart too. Maybe at the next class I will get to sit with her. As long as they have snacks at that table.

Studying the formula for degrees of freedom with multiple appraisers. Or something.

Yard Work

Today we did yard work. Mom did the mowing and weeding and also scrubbed the front porch. Me and Dixie played and looked at the flowers.

20140412_154713[1]

We got rhodies blooming

20140412_154104[1]

We got camellias.

20140412_154357[1]

Beautiful pasque flowers.

20140412_154634[1]

Tulips!

In the magnolia tree.

Cedar River Watershed Education Center

On Saturday mom went snowboarding and me and Dixie stayed in the car. It was cold and raining and I did not want to get wet. I mean Dixie did not want to get wet and cold she is just a puppy!

So on the way back we pulled off I-90 to stretch our legs.

IMAG2281

First we stopped at Rattlesnake Lake.  Wow that was really scenic and peaceful!  We saw a rabbit but did not chase it. We were good park guests.

IMAG2282

The we went to the Cedar River Watershed Education Center.  It was Fantastic! It rains a lot there and they have a garden where the rain falls on drums and it sounds totally cool. Way fun!

IMAG2290

We went inside and looked at all the great displays. They had so much stuff to look at we will have to go back. This would be a great place to take out-of-town visitors. As long as they do not chase the rabbits.

IMAG2286

The lady who works there was super nice and showed us around. She is really smart and knows all about the watershed.  Did you know that the Cedar River Watershed supplies two-thirds of Seattle’s water supply?  Wow – that is a lot of water!

In the photo she is showing Dixie how to use the display that shows about water evaporation. It was so fun!  When it was my turn I did it all by myself I did not need any help.

IMAG2289IMAG2287

We had a super duper time.

IMAG2293

Here we are playing one of the drums. You are not supposed to walk in the rainforest garden but this drum was right by the walkway so it was ok.

IMAG2297

The next day we went out to dinner with Uncle Pete. We went to a Mongolian Grill.  First you get to pick out all the yummy things you want to eat.

IMAG2298

Then the awesome chef cooks it on this gigantic grill.

IMAG2299

Yummmmyyy!

Going for a Walk

IMAG2235

It is Springtime!

IMAG2257

Me and Mom went for a walk through our neighborhood.

IMAG2258

We took pictures of some of the cool stuff that neighbors have in their yards.

IMAG2259

Love the flamingos!

IMAG2260  IMAG2262IMAG2261

All these great things were in front yards right by the sidewalk. So we did not have to walk up driveways or onto lawns. Being a tiger I have to be careful about not scaring anyone.

All About Animals

IMAG2224

Me and Dixie got up early to watch the sunrise. That is the moon behind the trees, not a UFO.

IMAG2231

After it got light we saw a wild animal had been drinking from the bird bath on the deck! Me and Dixie investigated Dino helped.  As usual Mom said it was a raccoon. But we know better.

IMAG2237

It was really cold outside, below freezing!  I do not mind I have a good thick fur coat but Dixie is just a puppy so we came back inside to read books. Callie the calico helped.

IMAG2252

Later we did errands and we went to the library.

IMAG2256

Ha ha! Look at this great book title!  We should totally get this for Auntie Darcy.

IMAG2263

Speaking of Auntie Darcy, she is confused about what is a jaguar and what is a cheetah.

IMAG2265

As you can see in one of my animal books, jaguars have beauutifulll spots that are like flowers. Tigers have stripes and cheetahs have more plain spots and more triangular faces.

jag3

This is a jaguar, not a cheetah!!!

A New Foster Cat

IMAG2220

This is our newest foster cat.  His name is Jimi.  He looks rather sinister but he is a big baby.

IMAG2210

He mostly wants to be petted and brushed and to watch movies on the sofa. And he likes his tummy rubbed!  Ooohhh I’m sooo scared!  He is so FIERCE!  hahaha

More snowboarding fun

IMAG2165

This morning Matt came over to our house.  He stops by periodically to make sure we do not have any RATS ewww yuck!  in the basement or mean hornets in the yard where I play. Matt has the BEST smile!

IMAG2169 IMAG2173

Then we went snowboarding yayyyyyy!  Dixie and I do not fit in the satchel at the same time.  Too bad Mom did not buy the Hello Kitty backpack that I wanted a couple of weeks ago.

IMAG2177

But mom figured out that Dixie fits in one her pants cargo pockets. Ha ha it was great! Dixie rode in the pocket and I rode in the satchel.

IMAG2183

Me and Dixie had a snowball fight!  Mom said after that it was time for us to wait in the car.

IMAG2189IMAG2185

If you have a live animal it is not safe and also NOT very nice to leave them in the car.  But it is ok for me and Dixie.

IMAG2191

Mom is out there somewhere!
