A Turnbull Hike on a Sunny Day!

What a beautiful day! We had a long winter and a short spring because it already feels like summer! 85 degrees out; it was windy so that helped us not feel so hot.
Here I am with some of the wildflowers we saw.
OMG there was a big breakthrough with our foster cat Yasmine. After 5 weeks of hiding, hissing, and growling, she decided to come out and be petted! Now we know what she looks like! Isn’t she gorgeous? She is a dilute calico with blue eyes and she is a real sweet cat.

Update – Foster Cat Chili

Here is one of our current foster cats Chili, he is doing so great! At first he just wanted to hide but then he started coming out to be petted and he loves cuddling. He wanted to explore but only if mom would accompany him it was very funny! He was underfoot a lot! But now he is venturing out on his own!
This is a very funny picture of Chili’s tummy! He is on a diet.
Our friend Evan from work came over to learn how to make soap but mom FORGOT to get a picture. So here is a picture of some of the soap. Evan is a welder and is super nice and super handsome.

It. Just. Keeps. Snowing.

This photo is from about a week ago but mom FORGOT to help me do a blog post. It has actually stopped snowing now but I really wanted to use this blog title last week. When mom FORGOT.
This weekend we went to Coeur d’Alene! We walked around downtown and looked in some shops and we also went to a park where there was a trail and beautiful views of Lake Coeur d’Alene.
There were not many boats out on the water. It was very cold and windy!
We have some new foster cats! This is Chili! He is very handsome and is also very big – 19 pounds! He needs help being socialized. He came from the same house as Heathcliff; it was a very small house with a lot of cats. Mom thinks Chili and Heathcliff might even be brothers!
This is Yasmine a beautiful dilute calico who is very scared and shy. She was found abandoned in in an apartment. What a terrible thing no wonder she is scared. She is safe with us now.

Spring is here FINALLY!!!!

At the end of winter we had a ton of snow!
One day it snowed for 11 hours nonstop!!! It was warm so luckily it did not accumulate much on the streets. I helped mom shovel.
One morning we woke up to half a foot of snow! The forecast said it would be an inch or two so that was a fun surprise! This is how it looked on the way to work a couple weeks ago.
But look at this! We went hiking at the Turnbull Wildlife Refuge this weekend and there is almost no snow!!

It was so great to get outside in the sunshine and to see grass again!!

Stage Left Theater!

We went to the theater again with Margo! She is so beautiful and is so glamorous! Margo is on crutches because she had some surgery on her leg – ouch!
Here it is before the show. Stage Left is a very cool theater – very small and intimate.
OMG!!! Our good friend David was in the cast!!! David and mom work together but he is also an actor! In this photo it is right after the play ended so he still has his stage makeup on. He has been coming to work with eyeliner on because it can be hard to remove it, ha ha! David is super smart and nice and handsome, and here is Margo again looking fabulous.
It is still Winter! For a while we had cold weather with wind so it was below zero with the wind chill. Then one night it dumped half a foot of snow! That took a lot of shoveling. Mom says she is ready for Spring.

Some Cultural Events!

Mom has been very busy at work so I have not posted in this blog for a while, but one weekend we went to a new exhibit at the art and culture museum. These works of art are made by sewing little tiny beads onto cloth! It is incredible! They are made by a group of women in South Africa.
The photos do not do justice to the work, you really have to see it in person!
A lot of the shapes in the design are symbolic so the art is very meaningful to the artists. I love the contemporary designs!
The museum let us make stuff with beads! So I made a necklace using my favorite colors!!!
Then just last weekend we went to the theater to see a play!
Here I am before the show with my good friend Margo! Who is so beautiful!!!

Brrrr! More Cold Weather!

We have had more snowstorms in the last week!
When the big snowflakes fall and stick to the trees it is a winter wonderland! Some Artic air has moved in and we have single digit temperatures overnight! I am a Tiger I have a fur coat but mom gets cold.
I have not posted in a while because mom has been working on a big project at work and been busy but we Finally had time to take the car to the car wash – it was filthy! Mom says we have lots of photos of the car wash it is not that interesting but I LOVE the car wash!
Exciting news! Mom had a photo published in a Facebook group for cats with earplane ears! It is a very funny group, so many cat lovers who make hilarious comments about the photos that are posted.

Happy Holidays! Happy New Year!

Tigers like getting presents!! These are from Aunties Darcy and Nicolyn! Giving gifts is also a good thing to do.
We had cold weather and freezing rain! The sidewalks and driveway were a sheet of ice! When it warmed up enough we were able to get the edge of a shovel under it to break it up. That was a lot of work!
For Christmas we went to Joni and Gary’s house. After dinner we played a card game and mom lost most often ha ha! Joni and Gary are super nice and also very beautiful and are awesome neighbors!

Best Holiday Ornament EVER!!!

OMG!!!!! This is an ornament made by TIGERS!!!!! We donated to one of my favorite charities WildCat Ridge Sanctuary and as a thank you they sent us this awesome ornament!!!! It is made by TIGERS who have a big blue barrel to play with and they bite and claw it and then the caretakers collect the barrel and cut it up for ornaments!!!!!
Our ornament was made by Scout and Atticus they are brothers! They were born at a breeding facility and as cubs were removed from their mom (!) and used as photo opportunities for tourists and lived in small pens it was terrible. But now they live at the sanctuary and are so much happier. I told mom now we have to get a Christmas tree and she said No. I will have to find a good place to put the ornament so we can admire it year round. Not only is this the best holiday ornament ever I think this is the best present ever !!!!
On the same day we got the ornament we read in the news that P-22 the Mountain Lion who lived for years in Griffith Park in Los Angeles was euthanized. It was very sad but he was injured and had many other health issues as well. He was sure handsome. Rest in Peace friend.
