Here is our first broccoli from our own garden! I am a Tiger a Carnivore and am not very interested in broccoli but mom eats a lot of it so I get some too. This is the BEST broccoli ever! It tastes sooooo much better than the broccoli from the store! It is amazing. We have some new foster cats! This is the mom cat named Beth and one of her kittens named Summer. She has another kitten that is much smaller named Morty and he is not in the picture. He is more shy. The shelter thought Beth might be feral but she is not, she is cautious but lets mom pet her and she likes to lay near mom. We have not fostered kittens in quite a while I forgot how fun they are but also how messy!
OMG look at these radishes! We have our first vegitable harvest! I am not sure how to spell vegatble. We have spinach too which is yummy! The radishes are spicy whoo-ee!!! I am not sure what we need to do to make them sweeter. I suggested sprinkling sugar on the soil but mom said NO.The snap peas are growing so fast. they are way taller than me!Here I am with former NFL player Drew Kaser!!!!! OMG! He started working at the same company where mom works and she did some software training with him! She did not know who he was because she does not watch football. Also she had to photoshop me in because she FORGOT to get a picture! He is charming and super handsome but best of all mom says he knows how to use a computer.
OMG !!!!!!!! We got to see the Northern Lights right from our Spokane neighborhood!!!!The scientific name for The Lights is aurora borealis. This photo and the ones above were taken by our awesome neighbors Margo and Steve! We drove with them a few miles away to a more rural and darker area to see The Lights. Here is one of mom’s photos. Almost all her photos looked like nothing because early on she accidentally turned the phone to selfie mode and could not figure out why all the photos were just black!
The snap peas have sprouted!!!! It’s so exciting!!!Here are the teeny tiny carrot sprouts! We planted the carrots and snap peas pretty early and there were some cold nights and we were not sure if they would grow or not but here they are! Now we just have to take good care of them and wait patiently for them to grow big. This is broccoli which mom eats a lot of. We did not plant broccoli seeds, we bought these already started. But they are at least twice as big as when we planted them!OMG the best thing happened! We met our friend Austin who we have not seen for years. We went to The Meeting House Cafe and spent hours talking! Austin spent a year travelling all over the world and has been back in the states for a few months. It was so great to see him!
Mom went on an Amazon shopping spree and we got some really cool cat houses! This one is my favorite! This one is also really great. It is inspired by the artist Piet Mondrian. When you assemble it you get to pull away the panel layers and decide which colors to show. Here is Yasmin in the Mondrian house! Both the cats like this one a lot. This is the one the cats like the best! I think they like that it is a bit of a squeeze to fit in it.
Where we live it was not a full eclipse it was about 25% but it was still AWESOME! We were at work and it was a cloudy day but whenever the sun came out we would look at the sun with mom’s eclipse glasses.David made a pinhole camera with a cereal box to view the eclipse – it was great! If you are ever shipwrecked on a deserted island or if your car breaks down crossing a mountain pass, David is the person you want to have with you. He is an Engineer and with a cereal box and some tin foil he could build a raft (if you are stranded on an island) or get your car going again (if your car does not work while driving over a mountain).
This may not look like much but as soon as we assemble it we will have a raised garden bed!But first we had to go to the big box hardware store and get lots of supplies! Mom says once we actually grow some carrots they will be the most expensive carrots ever! There were so many fun things to do at the store and things to look at! We totally should get one of these riding lawnmowers. It would be a good backup vehicle for when the car gets a flat tire.Spring is awesome!Back home we had to get to work removing sod, laying pavers, and getting the bed put together.Ta-da!!!!! The neighborhood cats are going to love this!
Yesterday we woke up to a Winter Wonderland! The woods are so pretty covered in snow!Other people had been out on the trail before us so we could walk in their tracks.Later while we shoveled snow a plow cleared our road. Yay! This was a really good driver; after he plowed the street he came back through and got most of the snow away from the driveways!
Saturday was Errand Day. This is me with Andres who is the most handsome and super helpful employee at PetSmart! He will go far in life! Here I am with Bai who works at the beauty supply store. Mom definitely needs help in that area! Not only is Bai totally gorgeous but she knows where EVERYTHING is in the store! We also went to Eggers which has a liquor store and a separate store that is a butcher shop! Mom is a vegetarian but I am a TIGER and TIGERS are CARNIVORES!!! So I LOVE to going to Eggers! Mom goes there to buy bread made by a local baker! Here is one of our new foster cats her name is Sigrid. She came from a hoarding situation and she is very shy and scared. She is small and may not be fully grown yet. She is a very pretty cat and we hope that we can teach her to trust people and be friendly. This is Peep which is a great name! She is also very shy and is still settling in. Our foster cat Birdie who we had for 8 months was adopted by her former foster Mom – it’s so fantastic! And Felicity was adopted by a cat rescue up north that takes in challenging cats. Felicity was not feral but was not socialized or friendly but could not be a barn cat because she needed a special diet and had no teeth. So it was a very good outcome for both Birdie and Felicity to be with people who understand them and accept them for who they are. Which is pretty much what we all want!
We are doing a TIGER Puzzle!!!! OMG!!!! We have been doing stuff around the house and taking it easy because mom had some unexpected surgery. She is okay!! But she has not had a lot of energy for a couple of weeks so we have been doing this awesome TIGER puzzle. Tigers rule! Also! OMG! We got this super amazing water bottle with a fierce TIGER on it!!! It looks just like me!Today we did go for a walk and took some artsy photos of raindrops. It has been a strange winter, currently we have warmer weather and rain.
