Eye Exam and Beer Bread !!!

Friday at work was awesome!! Mack brought in a whole bunch of loaves of bread that he made, all different kinds of BEER bread!  I did not know what beer bread was but it has BEER in it !!   I learned that instead of water and yeast you use BEER to make the bread rise.  Mack labeled all the breads and we got to try them all and vote for our favorite!  They were all delicious but we picked our fav. Mack is so smart and so funny he is an Engineer and very handsome and a really good ping pong player too.

This weekend mom went to get an eye exam at Lenscrafters. Here I am with Dr. Darnell she is a great doctor and very beautiful also she has a great sense of humor!  She showed mom photos of the inside of her eyes it was really interesting and informative.

This is me with Shania and Brianna they also work at Lenscrafters. Shania takes care of setting up appointments and checking people in and Brianna does a bunch of the eye tests and gets them ready for the doctor. They are both super nice and super gorgeous.

Then Lauren helped mom pick out new frames for her new glasses. She was very patient while mom decided which glasses to get. Lauren was super helpful and is really nice and beautiful. I can hardly wait to go back and pick up the new glasses!

This morning it was really cold and there was frost on the windows.

OMG we carved a pumpkin for Halloween! We have not done this for years because the last time we did it we had bought a pumpkin carving kit and the little carving tools made mom very growly. This time she just used a sharp kitchen knife and it was easy!

A SnowStorm! OMG!

OMG we had more snow!! And not just a little snow we got tons of snow! I would like to mention that is is early OCTOBER and usually it starts snowing in December.

The snow was wet and heavy and because the trees still have most of their leaves a LOT of snow got stuck in the trees and lots of trees got damaged there were tree branches breaking and falling in the roads everywhere. We lost power for a long time because of all the tree branches breaking. This maple tree in our front yard got damaged so mom spent some time this weekend pruning it.

With all the snow it is easy to see animal tracks! Here is a picture from the backyard with animal tracks in the snow I think they are TIGER tracks!

Also this weekend we went for a walk with some friends at Manito Park! Here I am with our friend Ron who is an Engineer and is very smart and handsome and his son Zephyr who is awesome and likes Tigers and did a great job holding me for the photos!

Here I am with Madison and Carmen and Carolyn and Ron and Zephyr and Betty and Tony and Tami! It was a beautiful day for a walk in the park.

Also this weekend we went to Greencastle Soap owned by Sandy who is totally gorgeous and super nice. Sandy had a party on Friday but mom FORGOT me at home so I did not get to go to the party and did not get any party snacks.

A new Kitten Photo and a Hike

So first of all you have to see this photo of our foster kitten Aria snuggling with one of our senior resident cats, Kosha. Aria loves all the other cats even though they hiss at her most of the time she just does not stop trying to be friends. What a great kitten!

Someone made hand-knitted baskets for the dinosaurs! It is pretty hilarious but we do not know who did it. We sure do have awesome neighbors!

This weekend we went for a hike at Turnbull the wildlife refuge. We saw a LOT of chipmunks they must be getting ready for winter. We also saw birds and a snake. It was a super nice day and warmed up to about 60 degrees with blue skies.

!!! It is SNOWING !!!

OMG is is SNOWING here in Spokane! It is SEPTEMBER.  The first day of Autumn was less than a week ago. It started snowing yesterday, snow mixed with rain but it melted right away. When I got up in the middle of the night there was lots of snow but mom did not want to get up and go outside to take pictures then when she finally got up it had melted a lot. All day it has been snowing and raining here is the front garden. Yesterday it was windy too and we lost power for about an hour and a half!  Mom says let’s give a shout out to the great Avista Power Company crews who got power restored so qucikly.

Yesterday we did a whole bunch of errands and here I am with Vanessa and Mars who work at The Body Shop they are both so beautiful and really nice!!

Last weekend we took Aria our foster kitten to an adoption event. She was scared! She is very shy.  She did not get adopted so she came back home with us.

The event was at The Country Store where they sell pet stuff and stuff for livestock and horses and all kinds of great things.  The BEST thing was that for the event they had snacks for pets and people too including fresh baked COOKIES that they were baking in their break room!  They were awesome we ate a whole bunch YUM!

An Art Demo, Zucchini, and a new Foster KITTEN!!

OMG we have a new foster KITTEN !!! Turbo and Mittens both went to the PetSmart adoption center and Turbo got adopted the very next day!  We were hoping they would be adopted together but most people only adopt one kitten.  Now we have a new kitten her name is Aria!  She is old enough to be adopted but she is shy and tends to hide because she lacks confidence in new environments. She is a GREAT cat!

This weekend we saw a wonderful painting demonstration by Melissa Cole and Ric Gendron, both very amazing local artists. It was interesting to watch and see their techniques, and also to see them work together on the same painting.

The demo was at the art museum where they also had an exhibit about fairies and trolls and I got to see Troll snot ha ha ha ha ha ahhhhhhaaa!   It was awesome and squishy!

At work our friend Doug brought us some lettuce and some zucchini.  Doug told mom he would bring medium-sized zucchini and mom was like oh thanks they look great how nice of you and later she was all like good grief I wonder what the large zucchinis are like. The medium-sized ones Doug gave us are bigger than me!!!  We have been eating zucchini for days now at almost every meal and it will take weeks to eat it all!

So I found another use for the biggest one. Just don’t tell Doug.

Lost My Luster!

Me and mom were looking at some older photos of me and I realized that my fur is not as shiny and bright as it used to be. Before we started writing this blog I lived for years in a closet which I did not like !!! but my fur stayed shiny. Mom says that’s what happens when you climb in and out of the backpack for hikes and want to go everywhere in the satchel and go on bike rides and snow boarding and all the other things we do. I guess it is a small thing and looking older just means that you are experiencing life and getting to meet lots of great people and having lots of fun. I’d rather have fun than worry about keeping my fur looking like I am still a cub.  Also I am not fond of bathtime.

Pig Out in the Park!!

Oh Boy! This weekend we went to Pig Out in the Park!  That is the name of Spokane’s food and free music festival this is the 40th year!  Here we are rocking out to Dragonfly; they were voted 2018 Best Cover Band in the region!  The drummer was amazing!

And here I am listening to the duo Maxie Ray Mills and Steve Sackett they were really good. Maxie Ray saw us taking pictures and stuck his tongue out at me! ha ha ha!

There was lots of yummy food I really wanted to try the deep fried pizza but mom said NO. She also said NO to the deep fried Snickers and the deep fried cheesecake.

Here I am with an amazing banjo player we met his name is Panda Bear!!!  That is a very good name and he was very handsome but not quite as handsome as me.

We also listened to this great sax player but did not get his name.

At work last week there was a snazzy Camaro it was an official pace car for the Indy 500!  It was here for the company Guiding Principles of Leadership Award. This year mom stepped down from the selection and planning committee and she was really gnashing her teeth when she saw this car because when she was on the committee part of her job was to drive the car to get it detailed and this was the best car yet!

Turkeys!

We were wondering what kind of animal was making a mess on our property, digging in the flower beds. now we know! It is TURKEYS! We have been seeing roving gangs of turkeys in the neighborhood and today they were in our backyard digging for things to eat. They can be a nuisance and sometimes they will even get on top of peoples cars!

We mostly stayed home this weekend and rested up after working so much the last few weeks. The dinos are playing with legos and some are also wearing flashlights on their heads. Because they can. Also they can play longer after it gets dark.

Big Work Project

There has been a big IT project at work and we have been working weekends and going in early and staying late and I told mom I would help by doing the shopping.

The most important part of any big project is to have lots of yummy snacks.

We did have time to go for a walk in the neighborhood and look what we saw!

This weekend we were able to relax and spend lots of time with the foster kittens. Look how big they have gotten! Here is Mittens the smaller younger kitten.

And here is Turbo. She is so fluffy and adorable! I always wish we could keep them. Mom says all the foster cats and kittens are special and we can’t keep them all. That they stay with us as part of their life journey and our job is to get the kittens big and strong and healthy and ready for adoption blah blah blah mom is always saying stuff like that I already know. I sure wish we could keep Turbo though.

Peaches, Dentist Visit, and a Friend Visit!

We visited Walters Fruit Ranch and bought a case of Red Haven peaches OMG they are sooo delicious! Here I am with Morghan who is totally gorgeous and super nice and owns the farm (with her husband) and who gave us helpful tips about peaches.

Last week mom had to go to the dentist and got her teeth cleaned by Maryna; Diana was not there that day. This is me with Maryna and Tessa who are both super beautiful.

OMG our friend Melissa came to visit! She wanted to meet all the foster cats and here she is with the foster kittens who have gotten so big! Melissa is really beautiful and really nice we have known her for years she lives on the other side of the state.
