Holiday Decorations!

We have been walking around the neighborhood looking at all the lights and decorations!

Here are some photos of one of the shy kitties we are fostering. This one is so fluffy he looks like a cartoon cat! It is so fluffy we don’t know if it is a boy or a girl!

He is really good at giving mom the stink eye. He does not have good social skills with people yet.

OMG there was a deer with antlers walking through our yard!! Mom did not get the camera in time to show him in the yard but he left tracks! He also left a present in the yard.

It Snowed!

Oh Boy I love it when it snows! Here is a photo of a tree in front of our house that has twinkly lights but only on the bottom branches because I can’t reach very high.

It is starting to feel like Christmas! Joni and Gary gave us this gorgeous poinsettia! We took it to work so lots of people can enjoy it. Also so the cats don’t chew on it.

Our friend Lacey is an actress and she starred in the Spokane Civic Theater’s radio adaption of A Christmas Carol! It was great!

We have some new foster kittens! They are not socialized so our job is to teach them that people are okay and can be their friends. One is braver so we have a photo of him. They are both getting friendlier but we don’t have a good photo of the other one yet.

Happy Thanksgiving 2020!

We did not go anywhere for Thanksgiving this year we stayed home to stay safe. We did have a Zoom meeting with Auntie Darcy but mom FORGOT to get a photo. Instead here is a photo of the beginning our our drive to work last Monday. It is not even winter yet!

This weekend we went for a walk in the woods near our house. This is across the street from our house! It is peaceful and so handy when you want to get outside for a while.

One day over the long weekend we received a package in the mail for someone who lives a couple miles from us. We decided to walk there to drop it off. On the way we passed this awesome Little Library! We picked out a book and have been reading it this weekend!

Today we hiked at the James Slavin Conservation area. It was a beautiful sunny day!

A New Foster Kitten!!!

OMG the BEST thing happened! We got a new Foster Kitten! He is soooo cute! He was supposed to be a hissy kitty that needs socializing but he has not hissed once yet!

He is playful and fun and adorable! I think stripey kittens are the best. Often single orphan kittens meow a lot when they are left alone but this guy is content to be by himself.

We went hiking this weekend! It was sunny but cold. You can see the frost on the trail!

Neighborhood Halloween!

Wow it was a great Halloween! Mom got dressed up in a wig and a funny hat which inspired Joni next door to put on a wig and an awesome witch’s hat and dress but mom FORGOT to get a photo! Three close neighbors had portable fire pits going in their driveways and someone else had a propane heater. We walked around to say Hi but mostly to see how everyone was giving out candy. Also I wanted to see what kind of candy they had.

This was my favorite house, they had all kinds of great decorations and also LARGE candy bars! I wanted one of those Hershey bars but mom said NO. She said that candy is for children going trick-or-treating blah blah blah we will have left over candy anyway blah blah blah. Other than that it was a GREAT Halloween with no wind, rain, or snow!

Here was our display. We put candy in cupcake liners. Separating the liners was a pain in the you-know-what. mom says we won’t do that again. It’s really hard to do with paws.

First Snowstorm of the Season!

OMG we got a TON of SNOW on Friday! Here I am at work when the snow started.

When we got home it really started to snow heavily! Visibility was not very good. On the hill near our house lots of cars were stuck in the snow we had to wait a while before enough cars had cleared out and we could drive up safely. We love our Subaru AWD!

The next morning it was sunny and beautiful and you can see how much snow we got!

There were animal tracks in the snow!!! These may be TIGER tracks!

Look how different things were last weekend before the snow. We went hiking at the James Slavin Conservation Park. The grass was so pretty! I played Savannah Grassland Tiger.

Website Change!

The software for our website got changed last week and everything looks different! Hopefully we can figure this out. Here is our first try.

We went to the dentist to get mom’s teeth cleaned and here I am with Cathleen who was super nice and is really beautiful!

A New DishWasher!!!

Our dishwasher broke for good about a month ago and we bought a new one and then the day it was going to get installed there was a work emergency and mom had to go in to the office so we had to reschedule the dishwasher delivery and this whole time mom has been washing dishes by hand and OMG was she tired of washing cat bowls. With so many kittens in the house we probably go through 50 cat bowls every day. Anyway the new DishWasher got installed last week and it is Wonderful!  Here I am with Bill and Bryce who did the install and took the old one away.  Also, OMG! when the new one arrived it was bashed up and there were no more of that model in stock!  So we had to go to the appliance store to pick out a different model that they had in stock and Bill and Bryce picked it up around 5 pm and then finally got it installed about 7:30 that night!  They were super awesome to come back that late to do the work.  They were so nice and handsome but not quite as handsome as me.

This weekend was kitten Spa Day for Big Fluffy. She had food (and worse things) stuck in her long fluffy fur so she had a bath and looks so much better now!

WildFire Smoke and other Stuff

We’ve had so much Wilfdfire smoke it is coming all the way from California and Oregon! For two weeks this has been what it looks like from our deck. Sometimes the smoke is different colors like orangey-yellow. And it is very poor visibility. And smells smokey.

Then we had two nights of rain YAY! and the smoke has started to clear.

We have been Very Busy taking care of kittens! Two kitten families is a lot of feeding and cleaning and socializing and cleaning and appointments for shots and spay\neuter and removing food from messy faces. This is the sink after breakfast feeding.

The youngest ones are starting to gain weight more quickly and are more playful. At first they wanted lots of cuddle time and reassurance now they are more confident. They are all girls except Fluffy Mittens so now we can pick permanent names!

Also mom has been Very Busy at work because they got Hacked! So we had to take the network offline and kick the hackers out and check everything and make everything super-duper safe and change everyone’s passwords and bring it all back online. We were like “we don’t negotiate with hackers talk to the HAMMER!”. Mom even helped identify the threat when she noticed that a server had restarted for no reason and alerted her boss who did not like what was in the server log and passed it on to the corporate security team who jumped into high gear to stop the hackers. It’s all about teamwork!

More KITTens! OMG!

The animal shelter has so many kittens again!  They really needed fosters to take some younger ones at least over the holiday weekend so we picked up a group. They are four orphaned siblings and are super cute. They are still settling in but are doing great! They are getting braver and are eating on their own although mom has done some syringe feeding just to get them started; then they start gobbling up the food themselves.

Three of them are probably going to be long-haired kitties. We don’t know if they are boys or girls yet (mom is not good at figuring that out when they are little, she says they all look like boys to her) so we have temporary gender neutral names so far. There is Fluffy, Big Fluffy, Mittens, and Fluffy Mittens. They are probably 4 – 5 weeks old but are small for their age so our main job is to help them grow big and strong.

Here is Mittens! Look at that sweet little face and those big whiskers!

The other kitten family looks enormous now!  Here is Tristan and Scout.
