OMG the most amazing thing happened!!!! We were doing shopping errands and were parked next to a family who had SNAKES with them and they were handling them! OMG! We chatted with them and they are amazing! They have a business educating people about snakes and this is me with Cody and a BALL PYTHON!!! They are native to Africa and are called ball pythons because when they are scared they tend to roll up into a ball. Mom says she likes that kind better than the kind that jump at you and bite you. I am a Tiger I was not scared. Wow we should totally get one of these but Mom said NO.It was sunny and above freezing this weekend so we went for a walk. A lot of snow has melted but the trails through the woods still have snow.We saw some animal tracks! These may be Tiger tracks! We did not see any snake tracks, it is too cold for snakes to be moving around outside, they must be hibernating. Mom says that’s good.
Here is the first scarf all finished! We learned a lot doing this and made lots of mistakes. Mom especially is good at making all kinds of mistakes.OMG!! then mom surprised me she made me a scarf of my very own!! This was the second scarf she weaved and she made it for me!!!! It is red my favorite color and she says the yarn came from France! Oh la la! I feel like I should have a beret too! I take back what I said about how she makes so many mistakes. Here is the one we are working on this weekend. We watched some videos of weaving and some weavers are amazing! One lady was weaving really intricately designed bath towels with many colors and beautiful designs. If someone gave you a hand-woven bath towel like that you would hang it on the wall, not use it to dry yourself off!
Our Ashford Loom arrived! It is so cute and beautiful! We had to assemble it. Mom would not let me use the hammer. I do not know why she keeps some tools away from me.When we bought the yarn from Paradise Fibers Ellie mentioned rolling it into a ball. Apparently the beautiful twist is done for shipping and storage but is not good for when you want to use it. One of the cats was very interested in the yarn while mom rolled it into a ball! Here we are weaving our first scarf!!!!! The video says we can make a scarf in about 2 hours. HA HA HA HA HA! No way! It took more than that for mom to set up the warp and weave the first couple of inches! Then she figured out the scarf had to move forward more onto the front roller. Now it is going much better! Also, we picked two kinds of beautiful blue yarn but they are close in color so there is not much of a contrast. We are learning a lot with this first project. Here is one of our foster cats. Her name is Panther. She was very unsociable at first and really hated mom. But mom kept wrapping her in a towel and cuddling her and telling her “We are going to be friends whether you like it or not” and now Panther is friendly and loves lap time. Now instead of being a barn cat she can be a pampered house cat!
Wow there was a lot of snow last week and most of it came down in less than 24 hours! Here is what one of our trees looked like! A Winter Wonderland! We had to shovel so much snow! The piles of snow got really big! Our wonderful neighbor Gary brought his snow blower named “Big Boy” to clear out the enormous berm made by the city snow plows. We went to a Paradise Fibers where they sell all kinds of supplies for fiber arts like knitting, Because mom bought a loom for weaving! The loom has not been delivered yet but we wanted to get some yarn so we’ll be ready. The is me with Ellie who was super helpful and super beautiful! She gave mom so much advice, suggestions and help that we left with information overload! you can tell that Ellie loves Tigers!
The day before Christmas we had some moose come and visit us! Here is a picture of Momma Moose. And here is her baby who is looking enormous! For Christmas we went spent the afternoon with our wonderful neighbors Gary and Joni ! The roads were icy so some other friends did not join us. More food for me!! Gary is very handsome and Joni is super beautiful and they are both the nicest people ever.It has been very cold for over a week, the temperature did not get above 20 degrees. One night it got close to zero!! Here you can see one morning it was 13 degrees while we were in the car. Brrrrrr! We spent New Years Eve shoveling snow. Yippee! Happy New Year everyone!
Wow it really snowed a lot a few days ago!! Yippeeee!!! We have been shoveling a LOT of snow! We were happy when the plows came through to clear the streets. After that we went out in the car and did errands! We LOVE the plows!Someone left candy canes on our doorstep. It says it is from the Ridge Runner Elves! The Ridge Runners are the neighborhood running group. It is feeling a lot like Christmas!
This is me with Frank who installed new flooring for us !! You can see a little bit of the new flooring in the picture. Frank did an amazing job!! Plus he was super nice and handsome and told funny stories. We LOVE the new floors! We had moose in our backyard! This is the Mom moose and one of her offspring. It is so exciting when they come to visit us and it is great to see them looking so healthy! We went for a walk on a trail we discovered by accident. We had no idea this trail even existed in the middle of the city! It connects two parks together.OMG Auntie Darcy and Nicolyn sent us a whole bunch of holiday presents !!! I love getting presents! Notice the beautiful floor too we are going to take as many photos as possible with the new floor.
It snowed !!!! Yayyyy! But then it turned to rain mixed with snow and then it all melted. Here is a little snow on top of a spaghetti squash that we are using to decorate out front. At work our friend Kristi brought in home grown squashes and we brought this one home to cook but then we got busy and mom FORGOT about it. So then I suggested we draw a dinosaur on it.Here I am with John who came to do a checkup on our furnace and fireplace. He was super nice and handsome! He is measuring me with his multimeter ha ha ha! This is me with Lea one of the awesome nurses at the doctors office. She is so beauuuutiful !!! mom had to get a flu shot so her arm was a little sore the next day.Our favorite library is closed for renovation so we went to a different library that was recently remodeled. It is very bland and cold looking, except for a play area in the kids section. I guess it is supposed to be modern looking. it is okay; we are always thrilled to have public libraries where we can borrow books for free!
These neighbors had some great pumpkins! This is our neighbor Mike. He is looking particularly handsome tonight. Here are some of the decorations in front of Mike and Katie’s house! I am a Tiger I was not scared. But I was glad to see them during the day. Then we went to a party and Jenn and Ryan’s house!!! They had 3 kinds of homemade chili!!! And all kinds of Yummy stuff to put on top like corn chips!! It was awesome.
We got invited to a party at Sandy’s shop where we buy soap supplies!! Tigers LOVE parties!Last week Mom had to go to the dentist. I LOVE going to the dentist because while mom gets her teeth cleaned I get to hang out with these beautiful ladies! It was mom’s birthday recently and when we got to work David had made this awesome sign for her office!! David put MY PICTURE on the sign!!! How great is that!!! David is THE BEST!
